I will be speaking at the second Charlotte BI Edition SQL Saturday (in Charlotte, NC) on October 19.  I will be at the PASS Summit as a volunteer (previous to the SQL Saturday), but will be talking at this Saturday conference about data mining.  This post has the details.

Presentation TitleData Mining Innovation with SQL Server 2012

This presentation includes a complex business analytics solution using elements across the Microsoft Business Intelligence technology. This talk will not have all the steps spelled out. Therefore you should prepare — for example, by looking at the SQL Server 2012 Developer Kit — since attendees will be expected to have working knowledge of SQL Server relational database, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SSMS and SSDT. Key elements of this solution will highlight features new to SQL Server 2012. At the end of the demonstration, you will be expected to participate in groups to promote one idea which builds on the demo, and everyone will be voting for their favorite groups. Come ready to create and celebrate your peers.

    Session Level: Advanced

To emphasize, this presentation is advanced.  I will not be giving an overview of data mining for people who have not seen the technology before.  The format is interactive team projects, with each team having a brief time to think about and deliver a data mining solution.  I have presented this topic before, and anticipate that this talk will challenge consultants or employees who deliver this technology.   Consider this event a small workshop combining best elements of data science and business analytics.

I will also be available to talk at this conference about the training and consulting options offered by MarkTab Consulting.
